Out where the blue deepens, where time forgets its shape, a boat awaits for you. Sirena is a handcrafted outrigger dhow, first of its kind built by the master artisans of Nungwi from the oldest boat - building families on the Indian Ocean. She is the newest chapter of Ocean Soul Collective - a slow, intimate way to meet the sea, from the same hands that built The Mermaid Experience. She was not designed to impress you. She was designed to slow you down until the ocean does the rest, to reconnect you.
The Vessel
At 11 metres long, Sirena moves with deliberate grace. Her eye-shaped hull, carved from Tanga timber, reads the water the way only a hand-built vessel can. Her deck is an intimate world for two to twelve guests - thought she is at her most extraordinary carrying just two.

The Outriggers
Sirena is the first dhow ever built with outriggers: two hand - shaped wings extending port and starboard, with hand-woven trampoline nets stretched taut across them. Lie back as she glides, the ocean passing just centimetres below. No barrier. No glass. No distance.

The living Sail Project
A world-first collaboration between art, ocean, and conservation.
Every four months, a celebrated African artist - curated by Forster Gallery in Stone Town - paints an original work directly onto her sail. It is the only project of its kind in the world.
Proceeds support Under The Wave Zanzibar. When you sail with us, you are not a guest. You are a patron.
The sail is not static. For an entire season, it lives. It rises with Sirena at dawn and catches every trade wind across the Indian Ocean. Sun bleaches it. Salt patinas it. Wind shapes it. By the time a season ends, the painting is no longer what the artist created - it is what the ocean and the artist made together.
When the next artist arrives, the old sail is ceremoniously retired and transformed by hand into a strictly limited collection of numbered artifacts - each carrying a fragment of the original painting, softened by months at sea.
Every voyage aboard Sirena, every artifact made from a retired sail, contributes directly to marine conservation.
